The Resort at Pelican Hill

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Resort at Pelican Hill. It. Was. Absolutely. Incredible! The only thing I did was relaxed. I guess that explains why the majority of my pics are at the pool.

The resort is located in Newport Beach. Newport is literally the cutest little beach town, like ever. It's the type of place you see and automatically consider moving to. Sadly I wasn't able to explore Newport as much as I wanted. I guess that means I'll have to go back;)

Here is the link to the resort's website -> http://www.pelicanhll.com

And here are some pics from my little va-cay. . .Enjoy!

So you wanna be a #GIRLBOSS ?

I love reading books that either make me crazy happy or motive me to take over the world. One of my latest pics was #GIRLBOSS. It was written by Sophia Amoruso, the CEO and founder of Nasty Gal. For those of you who don't know about Nasty Gal, because you either hate shopping or have been living under a rock, Nasty Gal is a super trendy online clothing store. It's everything!

I'm so impressed by a woman that could turn thrift clothes shopping into a $250 Million online empire. And I'm even more impressed that she did it all before turning 30. Not to meantion she never even went to college?

In the meantime here is a little inspiration... These are my favorite quotes from the book:

+ "Race balls-out toward the extraordinary life that you’ve always dreamed of, or still haven’t had time to dream up. And prepare to have a hell of a lot of fun along the way.”

+ “The energy you’ll expend focusing on someone else’s life is better spent working on your own. Just be your own idol.”

+ "Even with no manager watching to give me a gold star, it was important to do my best. Who cares if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it? The tree still falls. If you believe that what you’re doing will have positive results, it will—even if it’s not immediately obvious. When you hold yourself to the same standard in your work that you do as a friend, girlfriend, student, or otherwise, it pays off.”

+ “There are secret opportunities hidden inside every failure.”

+ “Create your own job. Become the master of what you do. Fully immerse yourself in your culture. Be humble. You are never above having to pack boxes. Never forget where you came from. And always be polite. Good old-fashioned manners can get you very far." -Jenne Lombardo

+ “It’s the age-old concept of like attracts like, or the law of attraction. You get back what you put out, so you might as well think positively, focus on visualizing what you want instead of getting distracted by what you don’t want, and send the universe your good intentions so that it can send them right back.”

+ “Forcing me to figure out how to provide for myself was probably one of the best things my parents ever did for me.”

+ “Harvard Business School professor Howard Stevenson famously defined “entrepreneurship” as “the pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled.” I give a “hell yes” to that definition—you should take that spirit with you to whatever job you’re doing or whatever project you’re undertaking.”

+ “but what I have realized over time is that in many ways, money spells freedom. If you learn to control your finances, you won’t find yourself stuck in jobs, places, or relationships that you hate just because you can’t afford to go elsewhere. Learning how to manage your money is one of the most important things you’ll ever do. Being in a good spot financially can open up so many doors. Being in a bad spot can slam them in your face.”

+ “If you’re frustrated because you’re not getting what you want, stop for a second: Have you actually flat-out asked for it? If you haven’t, stop complaining. You can’t expect the world to read your mind. You have to put it out there, and sometimes putting it out there is as simple as just saying, “Hey, can I have that?”

+ “fortune favors action.”

+ “One of the best things about life—a reason not to go blindly after one goal and one goal only—is that sometimes it will take you to something that is way cooler than anything you would have consciously set out to do in the first place.”

+ “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. —George Bernard Shaw”

+ “Money looks better in the bank than on your feet.”

+ “No matter where you are in life, you’ll save a lot of time by not worrying too much about what other people think about you. The earlier in your life that you can learn that, the easier the rest of it will be. You is who you is, so get used to it.”

+“In whatever you do, you’re not going to stand out unless you think big and have ideas that are truly original. That comes from tapping into your own creativity, not obsessing over what everyone else is doing.”

“You have to be excited and passionate about your ideas to make them work."

+ “We trusted our instincts, and stuck to the two tenets of my philosophy: Sell things for more than you pay for them, and save more than you spend. Simple, yes, but that is the philosophy that ultimately led to a really big business.”

Best brunch EVAAAA

IMG_5079If you're ever in NYC you've got to go to Boom Boom Room. It's located at the top of the standard and has the most amazing view. I was fortunate enough to make it to Sunday brunch and it was definitely a treat. It's definitely my new favorite place in NY. The food and cocktails are amazing, the view is superb, the only thing is it is a bit pricey. Also they don't allow cameras but they do allow you to snap away on your phone. I found this a little weird but none the less I do hope you enjoy my mobile uploads:) IMG_4912IMG_4914IMG_4922IMG_4926IMG_4948IMG_4947IMG_4952IMG_4965IMG_4959IMG_4962IMG_4968IMG_5046IMG_5050IMG_5058IMG_5068IMG_5062IMG_5061IMG_5066I must say, New York, you make a hell of a 1st impression! It's my first time visiting in the spring and I'm liking it!

Thanks for visiting the site;)

Hawaii Birthday Getaway! Part 1

photoHey guys, I snuck away to an island for my birthday and had the time of my life;) I stayed at a stunning 5 star resort, enjoyed dinner at the best restaurant in Oahu, shopped until I dropped and had my very first spa day. I felt like a princess all weekend... While I was there I thought a lot about my life and how it feels a lot like a beautiful dream;) It hasn't always been like this. In fact the majority of my life has been pretty rough. Everything I have now I've worked extremely hard to get and I truly believe that anyone can have anything they want. Here are a few pics, I'll admit there would have been more but I was extremely busy getting pampered:)IMG_4083IMG_4089IMG_4038P1050144P1050146P1050152View from my suite at night.P1050159P1040984P1040987P1040989P1050010P1050011Aloha=) Xoxo, Kali
